Wednesday, April 9, 2008: HillCrest Community Center, 1810 Macopin Road, West Milford.

Directions: If you are traveling Route 23 North. Make a right onto Echo Lake Road. Take it to the end. Make a left onto Macopin. Stay on Macopin for about 5 minutes and look for a big brick building on the right that looks like a school. There's a sign out front that says "West Milford Parks & Recreation." This is the Hillcrest Center.

Wednesday, April 23: Blairstown Community Center, 33 East Ave., Blairstown, 7:15 – 9PM.

BEAR Group Outings:

Hikes should finish by 3 PM-- later if we are fortunate enough to observe roaming bears.
Hiking boots, cameras and lunch are recommended; water or another beverage is required. Well-behaved humans and dogs are welcome. Rain or expected rain cancels. Please contact the leader if you are an inexperienced hiker to ensure that you will be prepared.

April 6 (Sunday) Highlands Hike in Wawayanda State Park

We will hike about 6 miles at a moderate pace. Meet by 10 AM at the Park Office off Warwick Turnpike north of Upper Greenwood Lake. Take Route 287 North to Route 23 North. Proceed about 8 miles on Route 23 North. Turn right onto Union Valley Road (Route 513 North). Bear left at the shopping center in West Milford. Then, bear left two more times following signs to Wawayanda State Park.

April 20 (Sunday) Highlands Hike In West Milford
We will hike about 5 miles at a moderate pace on the Bearfort Ridge. There are several short steep
stretches. Highlights include pristine Terrace Pond, stunning views and purple pudding stone conglomerate formations. Meet by 10 AM at the Terrace Pond parking lot on Clinton Road. Take Route 287 North to Route 23 North. Take Route 23 North past Union Valley Road (Route 513 North). Take the exit for Clinton Road and drive about 7.4 miles up this road. The parking lot is on the left side of Clinton Road.

April 27 (Sunday) Highlands Hike In West Milford
We will hike about 5 miles at a moderate pace on the Bearfort Ridge. There are several short steep
stretches. Highlights include Surprise Lake, stunning views and purple pudding stone conglomerate formations. Meet by 10 AM at the main shopping center in West Milford. Take Route 287 North to Route 23 North. Proceed about 8 miles on Route 23 North. Turn right onto Union Valley Road (Route 513 North) and continue until a "Y" intersection. Bear right and then turn left into the shopping center.

May 18 (Sunday) Highlands Hike in Wawayanda State Park
